Where is the time going, only 16 more days to get everything for the Holidays.  And Yes, Christmas will show up whether you are ready for it or not. It is just that way.   Here is another idea to start some memories that your children can pass down to their children.   I am sure there are a lot of us out there that read The Christmas Story to our children through out the season.    Here is a link that has a read along for the kids as well as some animation for them.  http://wordofloveforyou.com/Chris1.htm

But, lets’ take the Nativity  a little further with the kids, how about have them make their own scene out of recycled toilet paper rolls.  I found this cute project while I was stumbling the other day, and I loved it.

Materials Needed:

  • About 13 Toilet Paper Tubes*
  • Scissors

If you have younger kids a felt board is a great tool while telling The Christmas Story. It will keep their attention for a little longer than just listening to the story. If they can see the characters on the board it just makes it so much more fun.

Here is a site with templates to complete your Story Board.
